MicroSIP is an easy application that enables people to easily call and send text messages to their family or friends across the globe. It is also compatible with any SIP service or VoIP platform, yet with no registration is possible. The interface is basically built using a tabbed like interface, allowing you to switch back and forth between recent calls, dial-by-name, and dial-by-extension. When a new number is entered, it is automatically added to the auto-dial list.
The basic features of this application are the same as that of the normal SIP application. In order to call through a MicroSIP portable application, a user simply has to plug in the IP address of the source computer into the provided port number. The application connects to the network and searches for a SIP protocol compliant gateway, which typically is either a toll free or local number. Once a gateway has been found, the application transfers a caller's call history, present calls, and other pertinent details to the provided server.
As we can see from the simple overview above, there is not much to understand when we talk about a microchip portable version of VoIP. The software works exactly like the regular SIP system, with the exception that it is implemented as a portable application. The main advantage of this technology is that people can now easily communicate with each other over a broadband Internet connection. As with other types of VoIP systems, the number of channels that can be dialed in a given time depends on the number of active users. A typical sip (signal) range consists of seven channels, while the highest achievable channel rate is 38 channels.
